아버지의 긍지

 

 

하나님은 우리에게 참으신다.

그는 아무도 잃어버리기를 원치 않으시고,

도리어, 그는 모든 사람이 그들의 마음과 삶을 바꾸기를 원하신다.

베드로 후서 3:9

 

 

[구원자로서 그리스도에게 안긴 자들에게] 그는 새로운 탄생을 약속 받았다.

그 의미가 오래된 본성이 그 추한 얼굴을 쳐든 것을 결단코 의미하지 않는가? 그것이 당신에게 즉시로 어떤 유혹의 저항으로 품게 되지 않는가?

그러한 질문에 대답하기 위해, 당신의 그리스도 안에서 새로운 탄생을 새로 태어난 아기와 비교해 보라. 신생아가 걸을 수 있는가? 그가 스스로 먹을 수 있는가? 그가 노래 하거나 읽거나 말할 수 있는가? 아직은 아니다. 그러나 어느 날 그는 하게 될 것이다.

자라는데는 시간이 걸린다. 그러나 부모는 분만실에서 애기를 부끄러워 하겠는가? 그 엄마가 신생아가 철자를 사용하지 못하거나, 아기가 걸을 수 없거나, 새로 태어난 아기가 말을 줄수 없다고 해서 어리둥절해 하겠는가?

물론 아니다. 그 부모는 부끄러워하지 않는다‘ 그들은 자랑스러워한다. 그들은 성숙은 시간과 함께 오는 것은 안다. 하나님도 그와 같으시다.

A Father's Pride

 

 

God is being patience with you.

He does not want anyone to be lost

but he wants all people to change

their hearts and lives.

2 Peter 3:9

 

 

 

 

[To those who embrace Christ as Savior,] he has promised a new birth.

Does that mean the old nature will never rear its ugly head? Does that mean you will instantly be able to resist any temptation?

To answer that question, compare your new birth in Christ to a newborn baby. Can a newborn walk? Can he feed himself? Can he sing or read or speak? No, not yet. But someday he will.

It takes time to grow. But is the parent in the delivery room ashamed of the baby? Is the mom embarrassed that the infant can't spell ... that the baby can't walk ... that the newborn can't give a speech?

Of course not. The parents aren't ashamed; they are proud. They know that growth will come with time. So does God.
