사랑으로 관을 씌우시며

 

 

 

대야에 물을 떠서 제자들의 발을 씻으시고

 

그 두르신 수건으로 닦기를 시작하여

 

_요 13:5

 

He poured water into a bowl and began to wash the follower's feet.

dying them with the towel that was warpped around him.

(John 13:5)

To place our feet in the basin of Jesus is to place the filthies parts of our lives into his hands.

예수께서 대야안에 우리의 발을 두게 하신 것은  우리 삶의 가장 더러운 부분을 그분의 손에 두게 하신 것이다.

In the ancient East, people's feet were caked with mud and dirt.

고대의 동양에서, 사람들의 발은 진흙과 티끌로 뒤범벅이 된 발이었다.

The servant of the feast saw to it that the feet were cleaned.

연회장의 종들은 이것을 보고 그 발을 청결케 해 주었다.

Jesus is assuming the role of the servant.

예수께서는 이런 종의 역할을 맡으신 것이다.

He will wash the grimiest part of your life.

그는 당신의 삶의 가장 지저분한 것을 닦아 주신다.

 

If you let him. The water of the Sevant comes only when we confess that we are dirty.

당신이 그에게 맡긴다면 가능하다. 그 종의 물은 우리가 티끌임을 고백할 때만 오는 것이다.

Only when we confess that we are caked with filth, that we have walked forbidden trails and followed the wrong paths....

우리가 티끌로 뒤범벅된 것을 오직 고백할 때만, 우리는 금지된 것을 견인하고 그릇된 길을 따랐음을 말이다.

We will never be cleansed until we confess we are dirty.

우리가 티끌임을 고백할때까지 우리는 결코 청결하게 될 수 없다.

We will never be pure until we admit we are filthy.

우리는 불결함을 우리가 인정할때까지는 결코 순결해 질 수 없다.

And we will never be able to wash the feet of those who have hurt us until we allow Jesus,

우리는 우리가 예수를 받아들일때까지는 우리에게 상처주는 그런자들의 발을 씻어줄 수 없다.

the one we have hurt, to wash ours.

우리가 상처받은 사람이 우리가 씻어주어야 할 사람이다.
