God's Powerlessness

 

 

 

Jesus is God-with-us. Emmanuel. The great mystery of God becoming human is God's desire to be loved us. By becoming a vulnerable child, completely dependent on human care, God wants to take ways all distance between the human and the divine.

Who can be afraid of a little child who needs to be fed, to be cared for, to be guided? We usually take about God as the all-powerful, almighty God on whom we depend completely. But God wanted to become the all-powerless, all-vulnerable God who completely depends on us. How can we be afraid of a God who wants to be "God-with-us" and wants us to become "Us-with-God"?

하나님의 무능력하심

 

예수님은 임마누엘 -하나님이 우리와 함께 하심-이다. 하나님의 가장 큰 비밀은 인간이 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하는 욕망이 되셨다는 것이다. 상처받기 쉬운 아이가 되심으로 완전히 인간의 보호에 의탁하시고, 하나님은 인성과 신성사이에서 모든 간격을 가져가기를 원하셨다.

누가 젖 먹을 필요가 있는 어린 아이를 두려워하겠으며, 도리어 돌보고자하고, 가이드하려 하지 않겠는가? 우리는 항상 모든 강력한 것으로 하나님에 대해 가지고 있는데, 우리가 완전히 의존하는 전능한 존재 하나님으로서 말이다. 그러나 하나님은 모든 무력함, 모든 상처받기 쉬운 우리에게 온전히 의존하시는 하나님이 되길 원하셨다. 어떻게 우리가 우리와 함께하시길 원하시는 하나님을 두려워하겠으며 도리어 우리가 하나님과 함께 하는 우리가 되기를 원치 않겠는가?
